Cowboy Joe Club Announces 2008 Golf Series Schedule
Jan. 7, 2008 LARAMIE, Wyo. - The University of Wyoming's primary athletic fundraising organization, the Cowboy Joe Club, announced today the 2008 Cowboy Joe Club Golf Series Schedule. The schedule includes 17 total golf tournaments, in over four states, and features Wyoming head coaches, staff and administrators. In 2007, the golf series raised a record $197,000 for student-athlete support. Kicking off the series this year is the Las Vegas CJC Golf Tournament, which will be held the final Saturday of the Mountain West Conference Basketball Championships at the Revere Golf Club in Henderson, on March 15th. Following the Las Vegas tournament will be the Phoenix CJC Golf Tournament, held Friday April 4th at Talking Stick Golf Club in Scottsdale, which is a paired event with the Wyoming Cowboy & Cowgirl Golf Classics. Some of the other highlighted tournaments include the Denver CJC Golf Tournament, held May 3rd at The Ridge at Castle Pines North in Castle Rock; the Ft. Collins CJC Golf Tournament, held May 5th at Ptarmigan Country Club; the Hulett CJC Golf Tournament, held May 16th at the Golf Club at Devils Tower; the Sheridan CJC Golf Tournament, held June 7th at The Powder Horn; the Casper CJC Golf Tournament, held June 28th at Three Crowns Golf Club; and the Jackson Hole CJC Golf Tournament, held June 13th at the very exclusive Snake River Sporting Club. All fans, friends and alumni of the University of Wyoming are invited to participate in this year's tournaments. Tournament prices vary, and all current 2008 Cowboy Joe Club members will receive a discounted price on entry fees. Most tournaments sell out quickly, please look for your entry form in the coming months.
