At Wyoming: Junior- After being selected by his teammates as a team captain, Bell had a breakout junior season. For the first time in his career, he earned First Team All-MWC honors after placing fifth in the 100 breaststroke at the 2007 MWC Championships. He also placed eighth in the 200 breaststroke and 13th in the 200 IM at conference. He also swam on two relays, the 400 and 800 freestyle. He continued to excel academically and was named an MWC Scholar Athlete and was an Academic All-Conference selection for the third consecutive season. He earned his third letter award. Sophomore- As a sophomore, he placed 14th in both the 200 IM and 200 breaststroke and 16th in the 100 butterfly at the 2006 MWC Championships. He was named both Academic All-MWC and a MWC Scholar Athlete for the second consecutive season. He earned his second letter award. Freshman- At the 2005 MWC Championships, Bell placed 13th in the 100 butterfly and registered a 14th place finish in both the 100 and 200 breaststrokes. He was a first-time letter winner at Wyoming in 2005. He excelled in the classroom and was selected as a MWC Scholar Athlete and an Academic All-MWC performer. High School: At Greeley West High School, he was an All-Conference selection his sophomore and junior seasons and was a team captain as a sophomore, junior and senior. He was a member of the honor roll all four years of high school and was a four year letterwinner in swimming. Personal: Born February 28,1985 in Greeley, Colo. He is one of three children of Gail and Scott Bell. His younger brother Eli is a junior on the UW swim team. He is majoring in nursing.
