One of the top returners on the team and in the Mountain West Conference. Korir placed 22nd at the NCAA National Cross Country meet (11/20/07), which made him the first All-American for UW in 11 years. In cross country, he participated in four of six events in 2006, while placing fifth or higher in each of those meets. He placed first out of 153 runners at the Rocky Mountain Shootout (9/30/06) with a time of 24:51 in the 8K. During the indoor season, he was an All-Conference selection after winning the 3,000 meters in a time of 8:19.40. He broke school record in the 5,000 meters with a time of 13:57.60 at the University of Washington Last Chance Qualifier (3/5/07). He currently holds the third place spot in the outdoor 5,000 meter race in school history with a time of 13:58.85. Korir earned the conference championship in the 5000-meter run in 2006 and was a national qualifier.
