2007-08: Byron Geis enters his senior season as a member of the Wyoming Cowboys in 2007-08. A highly-intelligent player, he will provide Wyoming with a veteran guard with strong defensive and rebounding skills. Geis is an outstanding leader both on and off the court for the Cowboys.

2006-07: Geis walked on to the Wyoming Basketball program and earned his first letter as a junior in 2006-07. He played in five games, pulling down eight rebounds and scoring three points, while averaging 5.2 minutes per game.

2005-06: He began his college career at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City, S.D., before transferring to UW and joining the Cowboy Basketball program for the 2006-07 season.

High School/Personal: Geis was a two-sport standout at Campbell County High School in Gillette, Wyo., playing basketball and running track. Geis earned All-State honors in basketball his senior season, and was named his team's Defensive Player of the Year. He helped lead Campbell County to a runnerup finish in the State Tournament as a senior and the State Championship his junior season. In track, he was part of three State Championship teams his sophomore, junior and senior seasons, and earned All-Conference honors his final year of high school. He played for head coach Mike Curry at Campbell County High School.

An exceptional student, he was a National Honor Society member in high school.

Born Aug. 18, 1985, he is the son of Gwen and Gerry Geis, he is majoring in architectural engineering at the University of Wyoming.
