2007-08: Joseph Taylor is Wyoming's most experienced frontcourt player. He started 26 games as a junior last season, and played an average of 22 minutes per game. Taylor is Wyoming's top returning rebounder (5.5 rebounds per game) and shot blocker (1.5 blocks per game) from a year ago. His experience and athletic ability will be critical to Wyoming's play in the paint, as several younger frontcourt players need time to develop.

2006-07: Taylor not only led Wyoming in blocked shots and ranked second in rebounding in his first season competing for the Cowboys, but he also ranked No. 5 in the Mountain West Conference in blocking opponents shots. The Los Angeles native averaged 5.5 rebounds per game after transferring to UW from L.A. City Community College. He was one of the top offensive rebounders in the Mountain West, ranking No. 11 with a 1.89 per game average. Taylor played in 28 of 32 games for UW, starting 26 games. Four times during the season, Spencer recorded double figures in rebounding, including a season high 14 rebounds versus San Francisco in the Hawaii Rainbow Classic. His best rebounding performance in a conference game was 13 against San Diego State. He also grabbed 11 versus BYU in the MWC Tournament semifinals. Twice he scored in double figures during the 2006-07 season. His season high was 16 points against Montana State. He also scored 13 versus San Francisco. Taylor led UW in dunks, with a total of 18 during the 2006-07 campaign.

Junior College: Taylor achieved First Team All-Conference recognition as a sophomore at Los Angeles City College in Los Angeles, Calif., and he earned Honorable Mention All-State honors from JCHoops.com. He was also named "Defender of the Year" among all California junior college players by JCHoops.com. He averaged 9.9 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.8 blocked shots and 1.5 steals per game in 2005-06. He led L.A. City in rebounding and blocked shots, and ranked second in minutes played, averaging 28.8 minutes per game. He helped lead L.A. City College to a 32-4 record his sophomore season. L.A. City entered the California Community College State Tournament as the No. 2 seed from southern California after winning its Regional Championship over Moorpark, 101-78. In the regional championship, Taylor played one of the best games of his career. He grabbed 19 rebounds and blocked six shots, while also scoring 13 points, handing out six assists and making one steal. The Cubs fell in the first round of the state tournament to City College of San Francisco, the No. 3 seed from northern California. Taylor posted one very unique and impressive statistic for a big man his sophomore season -- he ranked second on his team in assists, handing out 2.9 assists per game. He shot 59.1 percent from the field (136 of 230 field goals), and hit 70.9 percent of his free throws (78 of 110). He blocked 102 shots on the season to rank 14th in the state. He was selected a team captain at L.A. City College where he was coached by Michael Miller.

High School/Personal: Born Aug. 17, 1985, Taylor played his high school basketball at Washington High School in Los Angeles prior to attending L.A. City College the past two seasons. He is studying social science at Wyoming.
