High School: Aric Goodman had an outstanding senior season as both a place-kicker and punter at Cherry Creek High School in Englewood, Colo. Goodman was named a High School All-American by Sports Illustrated magazine in his junior season of 2004. He was named the First Team All-Colorado place-kicker for all classifications by the Rocky Mountain News his senior season of 2005, as well as being named the First Team Class 5A place-kicker by the Rocky. It was the second consecutive year that he had earned both of those honors from the Rocky. Goodman was also named the First Team All-Colorado punter for all classifications by the Denver Post in 2005, and also earned First Team Class 5A punter from the Post. He helped lead Cherry Creek High School to an 8-3 record in 2005 and the first round of the state playoffs before losing to Columbine. His senior season, he made 12 field goals, including a long of 50 yards. He successfully converted 34 of 35 extra points, and 49 of his 54 kickoffs ended up in the endzone as touchbacks. Goodman posted a 41-yard punting average as a senior. His junior season, Goodman made 13 field goals, including a long of 47 yards. He also averaged 42 yards per punt as Cherry Creek posted a 12-2 record and finished as the runner-up for the State Championship . In addition to his football accomplishments, he earned All-State honors in soccer as a senior, while leading Cherry Creek to a 26-3 record and the semifinals of the state playoffs. Goodman was elected a team captain in football both his junior and senior seasons, and was voted a captain in soccer as a senior. He also achieved Honor Roll status in the classroom his junior and senior years. He was coached in high school by head football coach Greg Critchett. Goodman was also recruited by Arizona State, California, Colorado, LSU, Missouri, Oregon and Wisconsin. Personal: Born July 5, 1988, he is one of four children of Pamela and Curtis Goodman. He has a twin sister, Ally, and his other two sisters, Maddie and Renee, are also twins born on March 30, 1991. His father was a place-kicker at the University of Hawaii from 1975-78, and his twin sister, Ally, will be playing soccer at the University of Colorado. He plans on studying management at UW. |
