2007-08 (Sophomore): Curnow is a solid player who is using his redshirt year to better his game. He is a phenomenal ambassador of the Cowboy Golf program who brings many intangibles to the team. Max is the Cowboys' SAAC representative for the second straight year.
2006-07 (Freshman): Curnow was thrown right into the mix as a true freshman and played ten of 13 tournaments. He had some difficult rounds and his transition to the collegiate game was rough, but he will benefit in the long run from the experience. Max improved his scores as the season progressed. Curnow's low round of the season was a 75, which he shot three times. His best complete event was the BYU Cougar Classic, where he strung together three rounds in the 70's, including two 75's. Max was the Cowboys' SAAC representative. An excellent student, he was named Academic All-Conference and an MWC Scholar-Athlete.
High School: Curnow graduated in May of 2006 from St. Pius X High School in Kansas City, Mo. As a senior he placed fifth at the state tournament, was named First Team All-Conference and also earned All-State honors. A three-time district medalist and two-time conference silver medalist, he was selected team captain as a senior and led his high school squad to a sixth place finish at state. The previous year, as a junior, St. Pius X placed third at the state tournament. Curnow was an honors student, was named as his school's Ideal Male Student-Athlete and was Student Council President as a senior. During his career as a junior golfer he competed in AJGA and U.S. Amateur qualifiers, as well as several other Missouri amateur events. Max was coached in high school by Robert Lee and Mike Welsh. In addition to golf, he also lettered in football one year and debate three years.
Personal: Max is one of two children of Randy and Janie Curnow, who reside in Liberty, Mo. He has a younger sister, Madison. Curnow's birthday is July 17, 1987. Max is a journalism major at UW.
