2006-07... Downing returns to the Cowboy lineup after putting together a stellar junior season in which he led the Cowboys in every scoring category. Downing finished the year with a 32-9 record, 13-1 in duals, nine major decisions, five technical falls and three pins. He won his second straight Western Region title and qualified for the NCAA Championships for the second year...

2005-06... Downing had an excellent year in which he led the Cowboys in victories (24), dual wins (10), major decisions (8), and technical falls (4). Downing was the West Region Champion in the 149 pound weight class and was an NCAA Qualifier where he collected two victories.

2004-05... He posted an overall record of 13 wins and seven losses and led the team in wins by technical fall with two, and major decisions with four. He placed third at the West Regional and finished second in the Cowboy Open.

2003-2004... Downing had a great redshirt season with a record of 15 wins along with only five losses. Downing had a team high of six pins, three technical falls, and two major decisions. He had a first place finish at the Brand Open in Omaha, Neb.

High School... One of the best wrestlers to come out of Wyoming in 2003. Won the 5A Wyoming State championship his senior season and received the Outstanding Athlete Award from the Wyoming Governor's Office. He was ranked 12th in the nation and named a Top-30 prep recruit. He also placed first at both the Reno World Championships and Rocky Mountain Nationals. He placed second at the 2003 Junior National Freestyle Tournament in the 140 pound weight class.

Personal... Born March 26, 1985 in Ogden, Utah. One of three children of Linda and Hardy Downing. He is majoring in communications.
