2005-06... Ramirez used the year as his redshirt year and he was impressive in his open wrestling matches going 22-8. He finished the year with five pins, five major decisions and two technical falls. High School... He was a three-time New Mexico State Champion at Rio Rancho High School, where he posted an overall record of 158-13. He won two titles at 125 pounds his junior and senior years, and the other his freshman year at 103 pounds. Was named New Mexico's Wrestler of the Year in 2005 and a part of the state's "Dream Team" at 125 pounds. He was a team captain and was a two-time recipient of the team's Hardest Worker Award.
