LARAMIE, Wyo. -

In an effort to assist University of Wyoming fans attending the 2008 NCAA Women's Basketball Championship first and second round games in Albuquerque, the Cowboy Joe Club has arranged a pre-game gathering and has secured blocks of hotel rooms available to Cowgirl supporters. An airport send-off rally for the team is also being planned for Thursday in Laramie.

A group of Wyoming Cowgirl Basketball fans are inviting the public to join them in a send off for the Cowgirls on Thursday, March 20 at the Laramie Regional Airport. Fans are asked to gather beginning at 11:30 a.m. The team plane will depart for Albuquerque at approximately 12:30 to 12:45.

New Horizon's Travel is organizing all travel for Wyoming Fans. They can be reached at 1-800-564-1567.

New Horizon's has secured a group block at the Marriott Pyramid North (team hotel). Rates are $109/nt plus tax 12.875 - approx $123/nt total for a regular King room, and $119/nt plus tax for a Executive King with sofa sleepers. They will kindly work with UW fans in allowing early check-out with no fee. They also have secured the Fairfield Inn, with a rate of $79/nt plus tax - approx $89/nt total for either a king or double/double room - and this includes breakfast. They will also waive any early check-out fee.

The Cowboy Joe Club is proud to announce that it will host its pre-game hospitality prior to the Women's Basketball NCAA Tournament, beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 22nd at Coaches Sports Grill in Albuquerque. The early time will give fans the option to attend the 12 p.m. game if they'd like, or they can continue the festivities until UW's game at 2:30 p.m.

Coaches Sports Grill was the pre-game home of the Cowboys during their 2002 NCAA men's tournament run. Coaches Sports Grill is excited to welcome back Wyoming Fans, and they will be offering a $3.50 beer special, numerous televisions and a great food menu. Coaches is located approximately one mile from the Pit, at 1414 Central Ave SE.

All Wyoming fans are welcome to attend this FREE pre-game hospitality. The Cowgirls are scheduled to tip-off against the Pitt Panthers 30 minutes after the 12:00 p.m. game (approximately 2:30 p.m.). Fans are encouraged to join the Cowboy Joe Club and UW Athletic department anytime from 10 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Friday night, the 21st, from 6 p.m.-8 p.m., UW Athletics Director Tom Burman is hosting a gathering at the team hotel (Marriott Albuquerque Pyramid). Beer, wine, and light appetizers will be served. All Wyoming fans are invited to attend.
