Cowgirl Soccer Completes Coaching Staff

LARAMIE, Wyo. -

Wyoming Cowgirl Soccer head coach Danny Sanchez announced Tuesday the hiring of Kim Whisenant and Jason Green to complete his coaching staff for the 2008 season.

Whisenant will remain at Wyoming and enter her fifth year as an assistant coach for the Cowgirls. This will be Whisenant's third tenure as an assistant coach at UW dating back to the 1999 and 2000 seasons.

Jason Green will enter his second tenure under Sanchez as an assistant coach. His first came with Sanchez at Mesa Community College from 2000-01. He has also worked with Sanchez on a number of summer camps and club teams. He has had two high school head coaching jobs at Skyline High School where he was named Region Coach of the Year and at Chandler High School where he was also named the Region Coach of the Year. Green has coached five state championship teams, six region championship teams, four district championships and five conference championships. He has a total of 12 years of coaching experience including club, high school and college soccer.

Green has 16 years of playing experience including being ranked as high as second in the nation at Mesa Community College under Sanchez and at Grand Canyon University. In high school, Green was a team captain at Chandler High School and was a member of the Arizona All-State team and a first team all-region selection.

He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education from Ottawa University in 2003 and he will complete his Master's Degree in Physical Education and Athletic Administration from Arizona State University this spring with a 4.0 GPA.
