Krissy Hall Position: Head Coach Experience: 3rd yr.

Krissy Hall, who had been an assistant at Washington State University for a year, begins her third season as the head women's tennis coach at the University of Wyoming. She was named head coach on Sept. 13, 2005 and became just the third head women's tennis coach in Cowgirl history.

In her first season with the team, she recorded an overall record of 9-15, which included a 5-0 mark to begin the 2006 spring season. Despite finishing ninth in the conference, they won their first ever Mountain West Conference Tournament match with a 4-3 victory over Air Force on April 26, 2006 in San Diego, Calif.

During the 2006-07 campaign, she led the Cowgirls to a 6-15 record overall record and a 2-6 mark in the Mountain West Conference. Hall won her first every Mountain West Conference match with a 6-1 win against Air Force. Freshman Sarah Summerfield also earned First Team All-MWC honors during her first year with the program and only the second time in school history.

Hall came to Wyoming after spending a year at Washington State University. As an assistant (2004-05), her main responsibilities included the recruitment of student athletes, scheduling matches, organizing practices, along with coordinating community service projects, fund-raisers and socials. During that time, the Cougars finished with a 9-14 record overall and a ninth place finish in the PAC-10.

Prior to her tenure at Washington State, Hall spent one year as an assistant at Virginia Tech. She helped guide the Hokies to a 14-14 record and a fourth place finish in the Big East during the 2003-04 season. In July of 2003 she was hired by current Washington State Head Coach Lisa Hart as an assistant in Blacksburg and served as interim coach for a month when Hart left Virginia Tech for WSU in August of 2003.

"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be the next Head Women's Tennis Coach at the University of Wyoming," said Hall. "I look forward to working with such a high caliber athletic department in the coming years. I am also very excited about the potential and future of the Women's Tennis Program."

During her collegiate playing career, Hall was a four-year letterwinner at Virginia Tech. She played for Hart from 2001-03. She was ranked nationally in singles during her senior season and set a school record with 81 career doubles victories.

Hall won several awards as a player on the court and in the classroom. Among her accolades are an Atlantic-10 All-Conference selection in 2000, Atlantic-10 Rookie of the Year, and the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar Athlete award in 2003. In addition, she won the prestigious national ITA Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award in 2003.

A native of Hilton Head, South Carolina, she earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from Virginia Tech. The former Kristen Stubbs married Matt Hall on July 30, 2005 in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
