LARAMIE, Wyo. -

The University of Wyoming women's tennis program will kick off its spring season this Saturday when the Cowgirls dual against the University of Denver in Cheyenne. The match will take place at 1:00 p.m. at the Frontier Tennis Club.

The Cowgirls, 1-0 during the fall season, will be looking to avenge last year's close 5-4 loss to the Pioneers in Laramie. The match will mark the first of Wyoming's 16 duals this spring. The Cowgirls will also host Bowling Green in Cheyenne on Feb. 22 and will host Montana State in Laramie on March 4.

Wyoming will enter the spring season ranked #15 in the Central Region. The Cowgirls are tied with Missouri and Colorado State at the #15 spot. There are 34 teams in the Central Region.

This season the Cowgirls will feature five freshman, one senior, one junior and one sophomore. "The girls are really going to have to battle for spots," said Pam Wildt, University of Wyoming head tennis coach. "Without a doubt this is the deepest team I've ever coached and it's going to be tough to not play anyone."
